All of our premium arabica coffee beans are roasted on site in Dubai in our purpose built facility. Our expert team of baristas and roasters are always happy to walk people through the process involved at our cafes and bistros, from bean to cup for a fully immersive experience.

The Roast Master

Meet Raja, our Roast Master. Having worked in the coffee industry for ten years, he has considerable experience in all areas of the coffee value chain. Working first as a barista where he won the UAE Regional Barista Championship, he worked his way up the ranks to Master Roaster. Born in India, Raja moved to Dubai in his twenties and quickly developed a passion for coffee and decided that was what he wanted to dedicate his life’s work to. Being an in-house Q-Grader, Raja manages our roaster team, roasting daily to ensure our coffee is as fresh and flavourful as possible.

Research & Farm Support

Karthik is at the centre of our team at London Dairy Café – he is one of our in-house Q-Graders and Chief Coffee Officer overseeing our buying and travelling around the world, working with farmers to ensure we use only sustainably sourced, high quality beans. Born in India, he spent most of his life working in hotels and hospitality. His love for coffee exploded when he had a chance to sample some Kenyan coffee and it was like no coffee he had ever had before. It was fruity, juicy and had a flavour profile that got him excited. So much so, that he threw all his energy into tasting, buying and roasting the world’s best coffees to learn more about each bean. Having won the UAE National Cezve/Ibrik Championship four times and the World Cezve/Ibrik Championship at the World of Coffee in 2017 in Hungary, he understands what it takes to roast and make good coffee.

Coffee Trainer & QC Manager

Whilst studying commercial law and economics in Wellington, New Zealand – Drew worked as a barista in some of the city’s best specialty espresso bars. After graduating in 2013, he moved to Dubai to start working in a law firm in DIFC, but his career in law was short lived. He realized his passion for service and café culture was too strong to ignore and so his career in the coffee industry began. Drew is in charge of our operations and training, making sure that our baristas have the knowledge and skills to serve you the best coffee possible. He is an Authorised Specialty Trainer (AST) for the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) – the world’s leading coffee educational body – lending him the credentials to teach to the highest level.
